Election Integrity Promotion Alliance (EIPA)

The Election Integrity Promotion Alliance (EIPA) is an initiative established under the auspices of the African Electoral Integrity Initiative (AE2I), in collaboration with the Political Research and Constitutional Matters Department, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) in Nigeria.

EIPA was formed with the primary goal of promoting and enhancing the integrity of electoral processes. It operates as a platform dedicated to fostering fair, transparent, and credible elections through various strategic interventions and collaborative efforts.

The African Electoral Integrity Initiative (AE2I) serves as the foundation for EIPA’s endeavors. The Nigerian Federal Government’s endorsement through the Political Research and Constitutional Matters Department underscores its backing of EIPA’s initiatives. This partnership bolsters EIPA’s authority and amplifies its efforts to advocate for stakeholders’ collaboration and uphold integrity in Nigeria’s electoral processes.

EIPA’s Objectives;  

• Engaging and fostering collaboration among relevant stakeholders involved in the electoral process, including government agencies, civil society organizations, election management bodies, political parties, media, and the general public.
• Organizing capacity building, training workshops, and seminars for election officials, political parties agents, civil society groups, general public and other stakeholders. These programs aim to enhance their knowledge and skills in electoral integrity principles and advocacy strategies.
• Implementing public awareness campaigns to educate voters about electoral procedures and the importance of participation.
• Advocating for electoral laws and policies reforms that will strengthen transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.
• Operating as a non-partisan platform, emphasizing neutrality and focus solely on promoting fair, transparent, and credible electoral processes without bias towards any political party or candidate.
• Promoting best practices, contributing to the consolidation of democratic governance and safeguarding democratic principles by working to ensure that elections reflect the will of the people and are conducted in a manner that upholds integrity and fairness.
