Election Integrity Promotion Alliance (EIPA)

The Election Integrity Promotion Alliance (EIPA) is a strategic initiative established under the auspices of the African Electoral Integrity Initiative (AE2I), in collaboration with the Political Research and Constitutional Matters Department, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Nigeria.

EIPA was conceived as a dedicated multi-stakeholder platform aimed at promoting, strengthening, and safeguarding the integrity of electoral processes in Nigeria. The Alliance focuses on advancing credible, transparent, inclusive, and peaceful elections through structured advocacy, stakeholder collaboration, civic engagement, and institutional support mechanisms.

Anchored on the institutional framework of the African Electoral Integrity Initiative (AE2I), EIPA leverages strategic partnerships and policy engagement to drive sustainable electoral reforms and public confidence in democratic processes. The collaboration with the Political Research and Constitutional Matters Department, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, further reinforces the legitimacy, coordination capacity, and national relevance of the Alliance’s programmes and interventions. This institutional alignment enhances EIPA’s mandate to promote stakeholder synergy, democratic accountability, and sustained electoral trust across Nigeria.

As a non-partisan and neutrality-driven platform, EIPA operates strictly in support of fair, credible, and transparent electoral systems, without bias toward any political party, candidate, or interest group. Its activities are designed to consolidate democratic governance, uphold electoral integrity standards, and ensure that electoral outcomes genuinely reflect the will of the people.

Core Objectives of EIPA

• To facilitate strategic engagement and collaboration among key electoral stakeholders, including government institutions, election management bodies, civil society organizations, political parties, the media, and the general public.
• To organize capacity-building programmes, training workshops, and seminars for election officials, political party agents, civil society actors, and citizens to strengthen knowledge of electoral integrity principles and advocacy frameworks.
• To implement nationwide voter education and public awareness campaigns on electoral procedures, civic responsibilities, and democratic participation.
• To advocate for electoral policy and legal reforms that enhance transparency, accountability, inclusivity, and institutional credibility.
• To promote non-violence, peaceful electoral conduct, and responsible civic engagement throughout the electoral cycle.
• To advance best practices in electoral governance through research, monitoring, and policy advisory support.
• To support the consolidation of democratic governance by promoting elections that are free, fair, transparent, and reflective of the electorate’s will.

Through these coordinated interventions, EIPA serves as a credible alliance platform for strengthening electoral integrity, fostering public trust, and supporting sustainable democratic development in Nigeria.
